As You Are Therapy, PLLC

If you’re expected to be authentic, shouldn’t your therapist be too?

Therapy should be a space where you can exist as your honest self. It should be an inclusive and authentic space for healing and growth. We must emphasize the importance of cultural awareness and emotional safety in any and all close relationships (including healing and therapeutic). Without these two things, trust cannot be built or maintained. We are always told that we should open, honest, and transparent with therapists so we can help them help us. We are encouraged to be authentic, but how often are we told we deserve authenticity in return?

As You Are Therapy, PLLC does not discriminate on the basis of class, race, ethnicity, national origin, size, sex assigned at birth, gender, romantic or sexual orientation, disability, or age.

Our mission is to provide and advocate for inclusive mental health services. We strive to cultivate a therapeutic space that empowers people to be their most authentic selves. We envision growing access to inclusive mental health services across Texas. We also envision a growing number in mental health professionals who choose to emphasize authenticity in the therapeutic relationship.
